During October 21-24, 2010, 200 Muslim and Christian youth met in a safe place for several days of face-to-face, in-depth Dialogue experiences. The women and men discovered their equal, shared humanity and that "an enemy is one whose story we have not heard. It was part of the 2nd International Conference on Youth and Interfaith Communication in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. "Building Bridges Through Interfaith Dialogue and Youth Participation" was the theme for of the citizen-to-citizen workshops that provided tools for successful communicaiton across old chasms of fear and separation. It was initiated by the NEW ERA EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE SUPPORT FOUNDATION of Jos, Nigeria, with facilitation by travelers from the co-sponsor 18-year-old JEWISH-PALESTINIAN LIVING ROOM DIALOGUE GROUP of San Mateo, California, USA. The African young adults returned home with new tools of Dialogue and its new quality of listening-to-learn. The hope was to unleash unprecedented cooperation and creativity needed to build successful, sustainable families, schools, communities, and nations.
